PROGRAM INFORMATION
BOYNE SOCCER CLUB
Players joining the Boyne Soccer Club rosters will find the competition and travel requirements are a step-up from playing recreational soccer. Our teams' travel requirements are limited to inter-district games in our region.
BSC teams participate in the Northern Michigan Soccer Alliance (NMSA) which typically requires travel to neighboring communities in Northern Michigan for weekend games. Our teams may also participate in various area tournaments but is not a requirement. Our girls' teams play their games on Saturdays and Boys play on Sundays. Our priority remains to develop our players and keep them engaged in the game, while also focusing on the long term athletic development of each athlete..
U8 Academy
ME & MY PARTNER
The main objective within this stage is in the name – Fun!! This takes the shape of participation in as many activities as possible, such as catching, running, jumping, climbing and many more, to further develop fundamental movement skills which will form the foundation of sports participation in the long term, but we introduce the soccer ball.

Our U8 soccer curriculum prioritizes player interaction with the ball through small sided games. We stress the significance of fundamental skills such as dribbling and shooting. Our main objective is to make practices enjoyable, nurturing a passion for soccer in young players.

No Games: Practice ONLY

U10 BOYS & GIRLS
THE START OF US
Our focus at the U10 level continues with the FUNdamentals of ball control, passing, receiving and shooting. Our certified coaches begin to implement the concept of creating space on the field, introduce early stages of tactical knowledge along with progressive fundamentals. When games are incorporated, they tend to be small sided 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3. Players will begin to learn how to attack, defend and work with one or two other players but they will typically not comprehend how to work in a group of more than three players. We also emphasize the importance of nurturing the love of the game by introducing small-sided games that excite players while providing touches and opportunities to hone their skills.

Game format is 7v7

U12 BOYS & GIRLS
US! For the Love of the GAME
Learning to Train. In addition to continuing focus on fundamentals, this age group begins the introduction of strength, endurance and fundamental movement skills. Coaches will continue to establish a solid base of technique while developing individual skills under the pressure of time, space and opponent(s) to increase technical speed. The teaching of ball skills will be accomplished through game- like activities. The repetition of technique is undertaken through fun games, skills challenges and dynamic, game like activities.

Game Format 9v9
U14 BOYS & GIRLS
CONTINUATION OF US!
Committing to the Formal Phase
Training to Train. This is the stage where players begin building mental and physical ability in addition to fundamentals. Data shows that most athletes still participating in their preferred activity, will continue this activity to the next phase of competition. While we will focus much of our energy on the field, we start every season with setting individual and team goals, along with identifying team leaders. At this stage we also introduce and begin to encourage creativity within the structure of our training and match play. As with all age groups, drills and activities will be focused around an overall concept or theme. Focusing on technincal skills is still important, however, players will need to start using their technical skills under pressure and with less time to make decisions.

Game format 11v11

Practice Player
Once the registration deadline passed, we are unfortunately, unable to roster additional players for that soccer season. Please consider registering for a spot in Boyne Soccer Club’s Practice Player Program. In this program, players participate in all practices with the club but do not play in league games or tournaments. This program allows players to develop and enhance their skills with the club’s certified coaching staff and grow as a player.
Costs for practice player season: 50% of the cost for the age appropriate program (In Spring 2025 that would be $40 for U-14/12/10 and no jersey/uniform would be required.)
